Easter at Strawberry Hill House & Garden
This Easter, Horace Walpole’s “little gothic castle” in Twickenham, will be open to visitors throughout the Easter Weekend (Friday 18 April to Monday 21 April). The house will be open from 11am to 4pm, while the gardens and café will welcome visitors from 9am to 4pm.
This will be the last weekend to see our latest lost treasure, the exquisite Lavinia Fontana Miniature, on display at Strawberry Hill House until the 23 April. Don’t miss this last opportunity to see this treasure up close and read the story of its return to Strawberry Hill, marking another triumph in the ongoing quest to reunite Walpole’s dispersed treasures with their original home.
Throughout the weekend, young adventurers can take part in our Easter Adventure Trail, searching for Horace’s ‘Lost Treasures’ hidden around the grounds. Pick up a trail map for just £2 from the Garden Café, follow the clues, and return to the café for an Easter chocolatey prize at the end of the trail.
Families can enjoy even more fun in the garden, with hopscotch, dens, a woodland trail, and a special picture frame for your very own family portrait, don’t forget to share your #portraitselfie! Children under 6 can also enter the house for free, and ages 6-16 can enjoy discounted entry.
For a truly magical pre Easter treat, join us after dark for our Candlelit Late on Wednesday 10 April. Wander the house as night falls, sip a glass of fizz, and take in the beauty of the Lavinia Fontana Miniature in an unforgettable setting.
