Here at Strawberry Hill, we would not be able to run efficiently without the support, commitment, and overall incredible work of our team of volunteers.

Approximately 200 people are involved yearly in the preservation and promotion of Horace Walpole’s truly magnificent 18th century Gothic Castle, considered worldwide as an architectural masterpiece.

What we are looking for?

At Strawberry Hill we have a range of volunteering opportunities requiring a variety of skill sets.

Our different positions revolve around:

  • Front of the House volunteer: issuing tickets and welcoming visitors as they enter the property
  • Room Steward: sharing Strawberry Hills heritage with visitors
  • Education Volunteers: assisting the learning team in the planning and running of educational sessions and tours
  • Office Volunteers: giving administrative support to all departments across the property.
  • Garden Volunteers: assisting in restoring the gardens to their original picturesque design.
  • We will also be looking to involve people who have an interest in the conservation and maintenance of the property.
